Can you believe it? It’s February already – wow so fast! Were did the time go? Maybe that is the reason why I’m a little late with my February set up. I changed quite a lot for this month. This was the first time I used one of my fountain pens to do some layouts. Previously I had only used them for my gratitude log, but I like them so much I really need to incorporate them more!
Anyway, I really want to show you some pictures of my layouts, so here we go…
I finally found my compass and used it right away to draw the outline for my February wreath. Other than that I didn’t plan the design much, I really wanted to use some of my new Staedtler fineliners though. Unfortunately, my faux calligraphy didn’t quite work as well as I wanted it to. Oh well, more practice to be had.
On the next page I created a super simple monthly overview with only the most minimalistic design. I’m not sure if I will need all the boxes I created, but this way I will know better what to use for next month. Not sure how I will distinguish between “goals” and “to-do,” but I will try to write larger goals in the “goal” box and break those up into “to-do”s that are more manageable.
So … anyone found the mistake in my layout? I totally didn’t see it until I wrote this post!
Gratitude Log & Word of the Year
On the next pages I created spreads for my gratitude log and quote with my word of the year: energy.
This is the first time my gratitude log is not called “gratitude” or “thankful for…” but “reasons to smile.” I decided to this because in the past some days I had trouble thinking of something I truly was grateful for that day other than something stereotypical like “being alive.” Also I wanted to make my gratitude a little more fun and I hope my reasons to smile will help me with this. Also, for the first time, I didn’t use a double page. Hopefully, I won’t run out of space!
I decided to include this quote from Benjamin Franklin
Energy and persistence conquer all things
to remind myself of my word of the year. I hope to include a quote about energy at least once a month!
I wasn’t even planning on including a monthly for the month of February, but I just had to use my newly re-discovered compass. Not sure this will be at practical, I will let you know! I do think it is kind of cute!
Did you do something special for your February spreads? Also, how do you deal with mistakes you make in your bullet journal? Let me know in the comments below…
